Gateway Pet Guardians is a nonprofit virtual animal shelter and pet rescue located in St. Louis that rescues stray dogs and cats in and around the East St. Louis, Illinois and St. Louis metro area. Our volunteers feed the strays in East St. Louis on a daily basis. When a foster family comes forward, we can then rescue one of the many dogs we see on our route. All of Gateway Pet Guardiansâ?? adoptable animals are in the care of loving foster families within our network while they patiently await their turn to be adopted and go to a forever home.
About Trendley

Trendley was rescued by Gateway Pet Guardians on June, 9, 2011 in East St. Louis, IL. We named her after the street we found her on. She is very thin and pretty beat up, and has a patch of skin on the front of her neck rubbed raw from her collar/leash, which was embedded in her neck. She is heartworm positive and has a severe skin infection, as well as being seriously malnourished. The vet estimates that she is just around 1 year old. It's going to be very expensive to get this girl looking like the beauty that she really is deep down. Please consider contributing to her recovery. Look into her beautiful blue eyes.
